Rent a Park Shelter

Willamalane parks offer convenient and affordable shelter rentals for private events and gatherings. Shelter rentals will be available from March 24 to September 28, 2024. You can request shelter rentals at Lively Park and Island Park beginning March 18, 2024.

Please submit your rental request at least two weeks before your event. This will give staff adequate lead time to support your event and confirm availability.

Please submit your rental request at least two weeks before your event. This advance notice allows our staff to support your event and confirm availability efficiently. Full payment is required upon booking for most rentals. No refunds will be issued for early departure from the rental space.

Park Shelters

Lively Park Pavillions

The two striking pavilions at Lively Park offer electric cooktops, gas grills, food prep areas, and seating for up to 150 people. Lively Park also features lush green lawns, restrooms, parking, and a large playground, making it a popular choice for celebrations, company picnics, and family gatherings. Reservations fill quickly; book in the early spring for summer events. 

  • Three-hour Pricing: $183 in-district or $219 out-of-district. Rentals outside of these hours require an additional fee. Use the electric outlets for $11 per hour or $33 for the entire time.
  • Rent Pavilion A: 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. or 3:30-6:30 p.m. 
  • Rent Pavilion B: 12-3 p.m. or 4-7 p.m.

Island Park 

Surrounded by towering trees and grassy lawns, the Island Park shelters offer a lovely setting along the Willamette River. Island Park also features public restrooms, drinking fountains, and two parking lots. The south shelter is closest to the park playground, and the north shelter is closest to Willamalane Adult Activity Center and the Island Park stage.

  • Rent the North shelter: 1-4 p.m. for $75 in-district or $90 out-of-district
  • Rent the South shelter: 12-3 p.m. or 4-7 p.m. for $90 in-district or $108 out-of-district
  • Contact the rentals team for details on full-park or half-park rentals.

Dorris Ranch Barn

The renovated 1892 barn at Dorris Ranch provides a charming, historic setting for events. It also has modern conveniences like electrical outlets, water, benches, and tables.

Other Park Shelters and Green Space Rentals

  • You can only rent the Lively Park and Island Park shelters. All other park shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please use the shelters considerately, especially during peak times or when pre-booked rentals are scheduled. Be mindful of the posted rental schedule.
  • You can bring in your own food and beverages without a rental permit, but please clean up and dispose of any trash properly.
  • To use other park amenities, submit a special use request to the rentals team.
  • Green space rentals are perfect for small gatherings, exercise classes, or recurring events that don't require special licenses or large groups. The hourly fee is $25 in-district and $30 out-of-district.

Rental Guidelines

Refund Policy

Cancellations may result in a forfeiture of rental fees and deposits. If Willamalane cannot fulfill its part of the agreement or cancels the rental permit, the rental fees shall be refunded in full. Willamalane cannot be held further liable. No refunds for early departure. 

Refunds for facility rental fees and deposits may be requested in person or by telephone and will follow the following schedule:

  • 60-16 days: Full refund
  • Less than 15 days to 72 hours: 50% refund
  • Less than 72 hours: No refund

Prohibited Items 

  • Fire and barbecues are strictly prohibited except for pre-approved propane or gas grills.
  • Confetti, glitter, rice, birdseed, petals, and other small items are prohibited, as they can create excessive litter.

Setting Up and Cleaning

Renters are responsible for setup, decoration, and cleanup within the total rental time. Failure to properly clean the rental space may result in a $25 per hour cleaning or damage fee, plus any supply costs. Garbage service is provided, but renters should ensure all items are properly disposed of in the bins provided.

Special Rental Contracts

If your event will host more than 100 people or require additional infrastructure like canopies, amplified music, or alcohol, you must complete a special rental contract.
