Find a Community Garden

Community gardens are an excellent resource for Springfield families looking to improve their health, get involved in their community, and have fun. With a community garden plot, you'll have a fun and accessible way to grow your fruits and vegetables. Plus, by working with neighbors towards a common goal, community gardens can help you feel more connected and involved in your community.

About Thurston Community Garden

In 2017, a community conversation determined that the Thurston Community needed more resources for low-income residents and a community garden. As a result, Catholic Community Services, Food For Lane County, Waypoint Church, The Oregon Food Bank, and Thurston High School collaborated to create the Thurston Community Pantry that same year. In 2020, the pantry received a nearly $30,000 grant from Weyerhaeuser to develop a community garden. Willamalane provided the land at Lively Park, north of the dog park area, and began managing the garden in January 2023.

Community Garden at Meadow Park

The small community garden is located near the apartments at the south end of Meadow Park. This garden is currently full.

Huerto de la Familia Community Garden at Gamebird Park

Gamebird Park is home to community gardens managed by Huerto de la Familia, a non-profit organization dedicated to the health and economic security of Latinos in Lane County, Oregon. See Huerto de la Familia for more information.
