When voters said yes to a bold investment in parks and trails, Willamalane delivered.

Follow us as we move that vision forward.

Progress Overview

Voters passed a bond measure in 2012 that gave us the opportunity to create and upgrade parks to suit the needs of our community.

We’ve come a long way since then. Over a dozen parks have seen improvements, with more on the way.

This video shows some of the highlights of our work.

COMPLETED PROJECTS

Les Schwab Sports Park

In 2013, Willamalane constructed two new synthetic turf fields restrooms and parking. Turf on one of the two existing turf fields was also replaced.

In 2016, we added a new parking lot, entry plaza, flag court and walking path.

Now, it’s a state-of-the-art multi-use outdoor facility, made even more attractive by the indoor capabilities of the adjacent Bob Keefer Center.

COMING NEXT

Thurston Hills Natural Area

Willamalane has constructing a trailhead and initial trails at this 665-acre natural area, complete with parking, restrooms and a bike wash station.

The trailhead leads to more than two miles of completed trails, with much more to come.

Look out for a grand opening ceremony in early February.
