Four Great Classes to Totally Rock Your Workout

If you’re looking for a way to jump start your heart rate, build some long lean muscle or lose yourself in the moment, look no further.  The Adult Activity Center is kicking it up a notch in the evenings and on Saturdays to satisfy all your cravings!

Here are  four awesome group exercise classes to try this winter:


1. Indoor Cycle

With a pumping music and rides set to the beat, this is the highest calorie burn of any group exercise class. Instructors Wendy Petulla and Kara Churchill will guide you as you climb hills, sprint and stand on the pedals while looking out over Island Park. With two evening classes twice a week and two on Saturday morning, there’s no excuse not to get your cardio. Indoor Cycle  Mondays & Wednesdays 4:45 p.m. & 5:30 p.m., Saturday Cycle  Saturdays 9 a.m. & 10 a.m. at the Adult Activity Center.


2. Pilates

Instructor Christy Sullivan teaches both classic and modern versions of Pilates. Work your core and train your body to get stronger in all the right places. This evening class will get you toned right after work, and back home in time for dinner and a bubble bath.

Pilates   Tuesdays 5:30 p.m. at the Adult Activity Center.


3. Flow Yoga

This Saturday morning class will get your heart rate up, build long muscle and work your flexibility all at the same time. Instructor Shelley Stephenson will guide you from yoga pose to yoga pose to great music. Expect to build serious strength and cardio from this one! Flow Yoga  Saturdays 11 a.m. at the Adult Activity Center


4. Zumba/Dance Fitness

With classes Monday through Thursday and Saturday morning, you can dance your way through the week to trim booty-land. Instructors Sarah Doty and Jamie Velasquez will guide you through moves that will make you forget it’s a workout as you lose yourself in the music!

Zumba Tuesdays 5:30 p.m. at Bob Keefer Center and Thursdays 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. at the Adult Activity Center
