Before- and After-school Care for Grades K-5

Willamalane provides a safe and supervised environment with activities supporting literacy, science, the arts and physical education. Special guests and swim trips provide unique opportunities. Programs are also available on most no-school days and during vacation breaks.

Registration Information

Registration can occur online or in-person at Bob Keefer Center. Please note you will be charged a $30 annual registration fee for each child, a portion of which goes toward activity materials.

Payments
Payments for each month are due by the first of the month. Fees must be paid in full in order for a child to participate. Please see the Parent Handbook for more information.

Scheduled Payments
Register your child for the entire school year. Your credit or debit card will be charged each month, beginning the second month after initial registration. A two-week notice is required to withdraw.

Refund Policy

Monthly Enrollment: Please notify Bob Keefer Center at (541) 736-4544 if you are dropping from the program. Mentioning it to site staff is not sufficient notification. No refunds, credits or reallocation of funds will be given for missed days or extended absences, or program cancellations due to weather or other circumstances.

Daily Enrollment: Credits will only be awarded to those who call Bob Keefer Center at (541) 736-4544 to withdraw or cancel from the program by 1:30 p.m. on regular days and 11 a.m. for early release days. Mentioning it to site staff is not sufficient notification.

Discounts Available
• Sibling discount of 20 percent if registering two or more children in the same program at the same school.
• The registration fee of $30 per child is waived for the third child in a family.
• Scholarship support. Those receiving financial support from an agency such as Adult and Family Services or other third-party providers are not eligible to apply the scholarship to care options.

Monitored Access:

Kids Club is monitored by at least two onsite staff at each school. Adults picking up children must present identification matching the authorized pickup list.

Monday-Friday, 2:45-6 p.m.

School sites: Centennial, Douglas Gardens, Guy Lee, Maple, Mt. Vernon, Page, Ridgeview, Riverbend, Two Rivers/Dos Rios, Thurston and Yolanda elementary schools. Grades K-5. Fun, friendship and quality care! Our Kids Club program features games and sports for active kids, plus literacy, science and the arts.  

Full-time Options

Monday-Friday afternoons | For those seeking care every school day. You may also use the scheduled payment program. Fee includes care on all early release days.

Monthly fee: $200

Daily Enrollment

We recognize that not all families need regular care for their children. If your schedule changes frequently, these options are for you. Daily enrollment options depend upon space availability at each site. If you need more than 14 days of care per month, it is more cost effective to enroll for the full month. Reserving for a full month also ensures you get a spot.

Daily fee: $15

Last-minute Afternoons If you need last-minute afternoon care, register online for the daily option by 1:30 p.m. You will need to call your child’s school and ask that your child be told to attend Kids Club. Early Release Fridays If you need last-minute afternoon care for early release Fridays, register online for the daily option by 11 a.m.

Early Start

Early Start

Available at Centennial, Mt. Vernon, Ridgeview, Riverbend, Thurston and Yolanda elementary schools.

Grades K-5. This low-cost option provides supervised activities such as reading, board games and coloring before school starts. Students are dismissed to enjoy school breakfast at approximately 8:15 a.m., depending on school schedule. Monthly fees will not be prorated, and part-time rates are not available. School breakfast included in fee when participants arrive by Early Start breakfast time.

Want Early Start at your school? Call 541-736-4522 to be placed on a waiting list. If there is sufficient interest at other schools, additional sites may open. We currently have waiting lists for sites at Douglas Gardens, Guy Lee, Maple, Page and Two Rivers/Dos Rios elementary schools.

8/27: Maker Monday. Prepare to create, craft, tinker and build.

In the Forest of S.T. Shrew

September 7, 2018 is a no school day for kindergartners in the Springfield Public Schools. In this full-day camp we will follow S.T. Shrew and his friends Millie the Millipede and Sitta the Nuthatch as we explore the forest from a “shrew’s eye view.” Discover what animals live in the trees, create your own treehouse, get down and dirty with bugs and make your own paper in this camp specially designed for young learners. Bring a sack lunch and water bottle. We will be spending time outside; please wear sunscreen and dress for the weather.
