Tap & Taste is Back for Seconds

crowds gather in downtown Springfield, Oregon for Tap & Taste

Tap & Taste, Springfield’s premiere food and drink celebration, is back for a second year to tickle your taste buds and quench your thirst. Featuring some of the community’s favorite restaurants, breweries and live musicians, Tap & Taste will again take place at 5th and A streets in downtown Springfield on Aug. 19, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Willamalane is teaming up with the local food and drink vendors to provide a night of savory bites, delectable sips and live music as a toast to end the summer.

“It’s so much fun to see downtown Springfield come alive during Tap & Taste,” said Jana Weaver, Willamalane’s Special Events Supervisor. “It’s a wonderful party and grown-up foodie event, but it’s also a perfect opportunity to celebrate and take pride in this wonderful place we live.”

In its first year, Tap & Taste attracted over 750 people to the event, and an even bigger crowd is anticipated this year, said Weaver.

“The event was so successful and created such a great sense of community pride that people are talking about it even now,” she said. Along with all the great food and drink, Weaver said the festive atmosphere is also enhanced by the live music that fills the evening air. This year’s local musicians include Breakers Yard, TLS Journey and Nate Bosford.

Tickets are limited, and can be purchased in advance by going online at willamalane.org, or by calling 541-736-4544. Tickets in advance are $12 and $15 at the door. Admission is bundled with a souvenir glass and complimentary taste tickets. Additional taste tickets can be purchased at the event.

While some of the area’s best cider and brews will be featured, non-alcoholic beverages will also be available including tea, juice and kombucha.

New to this year’s event will be the chance to vote for your favorite Tap & Taste restaurant, brewery and vendor, with awards presented to the winners.

Willamalane is seeking volunteers to help with the event. Those interested should contact Mavis Sanchez at 541-736-4039.
