Ways to Beat the Heat Wave

Large water wave

Temperatures are soaring, but Willamalane is helping to keep people cool inside and out.

Kids in Willamalane’s camps are enjoying more indoor activities this week, with movies and indoor soccer taking the place of outdoor games. Canopies are being set up for some of the Summer Playground Program sites, and leaders make sure everyone has access to water. Willamalane staff members are also trained to recognize symptoms of heat exhaustion.

Anyone affected by the heat may also head for a Willamalane facility to sit and chill. Willamalane Adult Activity Center and Willamalane Center for Sports and Recreation both offer spacious, air-conditioned lobbies.

But there’s no need to just sit there when you can be having fun! Visit one of our two aquatic centers for the afternoon and swim, dive, slide and smile the hours away.

And here’s the Willamalane bonus: You can leave the sunscreen at home. Both swim centers are indoors.

Splash! at Lively Park

Splash! at Lively Park offers play pools, lap swimming, water basketball, an adult spa and a huge wave pool for indoor fun for the whole family.
