Willamalane has offered preschool programs for decades, ever since the 1950s. The classrooms, teachers, and curriculum have evolved, but our care and commitment to nurturing children have been at the core of this program for nearly 75 years.
Today, the preschool program is the largest it's ever been. In 2024, Lane County was facing an early childcare crisis. Willamalane secured $1 million in donations to expand Tiny Ducks Preschool, increasing full-time capacity from 20 to 80 preschool spots. Now, the preschool has a bright, brand-new space where kids thrive and families feel connected and supported.

New Classrooms
When you first step inside, a colorful mural welcomes you into the space. Decorated classroom doors line the hallway, where calming paint colors, playful murals, and natural elements create a warm, nurturing environment. The renovation transformed former meeting rooms into three new classrooms, each with a cozy storytime corner for group reading, colorful kid-sized furniture, plentiful learning materials, and an attached restroom. Teachers also have convenient access to storage areas, an office, a kitchen, and adult restrooms, all within the preschool wing.
Plenty of Play Space
Beyond the classrooms, children have access to a variety of indoor and outdoor play spaces. The playground features all-new equipment, covered areas, and soft-surfaced play areas. During rainy weather, classes often use Bob Keefer Center's indoor court space for active play. On sunny days, they may also take a short walk to the nearby turf fields and playground at Willamalane Sports Park.
Safe and Secure
The preschool is conveniently located at Bob Keefer Center with its own dedicated entrance and secure wing. Keypad-coded doors at each entrance help keep the space secure. Plus, all staff have completed state-required background checks and fulfilled all childcare safety training requirements.

Each room has a teacher who is bilingual in English and Spanish to support families who speak Spanish, and one teacher also incorporates American Sign Language into daily activities.
Affordable Preschool
In a region where preschool is scarce, Willamalane is committed to keeping rates affordable, often below market pricing, so more families can access this essential service. The preschool accepts ERDC payments, offers sibling discounts, and has scholarships available for the full-time program.
