MEGGA Hunt
Visit Lively Park on Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to noon to join Springfield’s biggest annual egg hunt event that’s fun for all ages and abilities! All egg hunters need to buy tickets in advance.
Free activities, such as crafts, balloon animals, face painting, train rides, a photo booth, music, and exhibitors, are open to everyone without a ticket. Hot drinks and snacks will also be available for purchase. Plus, you can pick up a Megga Backyard Kit for $25, filled with 50 eggs and other surprises to keep the fun going all weekend.
Family Adventure Hunts are also available for groups looking to hunt together.
Get your Tickets
Tickets go on sale March 18 at 8 a.m. and are available until April 18 for $6 in-district and $9 out-of-district. Tickets are not sold on-site.
The entry time on your ticket is when you should plan to arrive at the event. After your hunt, you can stay as long as you like. Competitive and baby hunts happen throughout the day. Inclusive and adaptive hunts begin after 11 a.m. See the descriptions of the hunts for all ages and abilities below.
Ticket Pick-Up
After you purchase your tickets, you can pick them up at Bob Keefer Center during regular business hours through April 18. You can also pick up your tickets at will-call at Megga Hunt, but there may be a line.
Ticketed Egg Hunts for All Ages and Abilities
All hunts happen on a rolling basis. There may be wait times.
Competitive Hunt (the first hunt begins at 9:15 a.m.)
Children race to collect as many eggs as possible. Each hunt has one golden egg, and the child who finds it receives a prize basket. Hunts take place on uneven grassy areas.
Baby and Toddler Hunt (the first hunt begins at 9:15 a.m.)
This hunt is for toddlers one-year-old or younger. The area is designed for children and caregivers to experience sensory bins, unfilled eggs, and photo spots.
Inclusive Hunt (the first hunt begins at 11:30 a.m.)
This hunt is open to all ages and has a maximum of six people per hunt. Each can collect about 25 eggs of their assigned color.
Adaptive Hunt (the first hunt begins at 11:30 a.m.)
This hunt is open to all ages and accessible to individuals who use mobility devices or prefer flat concrete surfaces. Eggs are placed on various level surfaces, including the floor, tables, and elevated surfaces, and the hunt takes place under a shelter. Six people can participate at a time, each collecting about 20 eggs of their assigned color.
Reserve a Family Adventure Hunt
Reserve a section of Lively Park for a private, 10-minute egg hunt during Megga Hunt! Each reservation includes about 100 eggs hidden with fun obstacles and uneven surfaces.
Registration begins March 18 at 8 a.m. and must be completed in advance. Only one reservation is needed per lot. Family Adventure Hunts cost $25 in-district/$28 out-of-district. No need to pick up tickets ahead of time; everything will be ready for you on the day of the event.
Free activities, such as crafts, balloon animals, face painting, train rides, a photo booth, music, and exhibitors, are open to everyone without a ticket. However, you must purchase a ticket in advance to hunt eggs in the larger event.
