Board of Directors and Public Meetings
About Willamalane's Board of Directors
Willamalane Park and Recreation District is led by a five-member elected board. Members of the board serve at-large for a four-year elected term of office. At the end of a four-year term, members may run for re-election to successive terms. Voting takes place during primary elections, and terms begin in July. If a vacancy occurs mid-term, the board can appoint someone to serve until the next district election.
- When: The board meets on the second Wednesday of each month except August. Regular business meetings begin at 6 p.m. Work sessions are held as needed, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
- Where: All meetings, unless otherwise noted, are held in person in the Ken Long Room of Bob Keefer Center. There is also an option to join the meeting online.

Rules for Public Comment
Public comment is always one of the first items on the agenda. After you make your comments to the board, you are welcome to leave or stay for the rest of the meeting. The board won’t engage with you during your time, but they might ask you some clarifying questions or make a statement after you’re done. Any comments you make will become a matter of public record.
- When you are called on, you will be asked to step up to the podium (or unmute your microphone if participating virtually) and state your name and whether you live within or outside Willamalane's district boundaries. If you are unsure, you can state the city in which you live.
- Each speaker is limited to three minutes to address the board. To ensure fairness for everyone, please end your comments after three minutes. A visible timer will run to track how long you have left. You do not have to use the full three minutes if you choose not to.
- Any disruptive behavior, personal attacks, harassment, bullying, or intimidation during public comment, including members of the audience, will not be tolerated.
