Sounds like Summer 2023
Willamalane Park and Recreation District is holding its annual Sounds Like Summer concert and performance series, and the weekly concerts begin tonight, Wednesday, July 12, 2023. On Wednesday evenings July 12 through Aug. 2, community members can enjoy local music performances at Island Park, 200 West B Street.
The opening act starts at 5:30 p.m. and the band starts playing at 7 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. Beer, wine, and concessions are available for sale. Admission is $3 per night or free with a non-perishable food donation. Donations support the food pantry at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center. Registration is not required.
- July 12 Concert: Code Red and opening act Magician David Grinder
- July 19 Concert: Terry Robb Duo and opening act Bright Heart Circus
- July 26 Concert: Descarga 54 and opening act Bollywood Dreams
- Aug. 2 Concert: Left on Wilson and opening act Magician David Grinder
This summer also includes two play performances. The first performance was held in June. The second performance will be The Princess and the Goblin by the Roving Park Players held on Saturday, Aug. 12 and Sunday, Aug. 13. For this event, gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6 p.m.
