Willamalane Opens More Parks and Splash!

Willamalane Park and Recreation District is announcing that beginning Saturday, Feb. 3, Splash! at Lively Park (6100 Thurston Road, Springfield, Ore.), and several parks will open.

The pool will open starting Saturday, Feb. 3. Waterpark swims will be available from 1-5 p.m. this weekend. All parties and swim lessons will take place as planned. This is the last of Willamalane’s four public facilities to open.

Several district parks and paths will re-open to the public starting Saturday, Feb. 3. A complete list will be available by the end of the day on Friday, Feb. 2. An interactive district map is available at here that indicates the status of each Willamalane park. This map is best viewed on a desktop computer.

Parks are deemed “open” when partial or full access to the park is possible. Developed areas of open parks, like playgrounds, basketball courts, and paved paths, have been cleared. However, debris and marked hazard areas may still be present elsewhere. Please use caution and pay attention to posted signs when visiting parks.

The recent ice storm heavily impacted Willamalane parks. Even with the hard work of Willamalane staff and volunteer crews, it may be several months before all debris is cleared and all parks are back to full operation.
