Support Parks and Programs with the Willamalane Park Foundation
A thriving system of parks, trails and open spaces, along with a robust array of recreation and activity options, is essential to creating a healthy and happy community. Since 1983, the all-volunteer Willamalane Park Foundation has worked to supplement the work of Willamalane Park and Recreation District. Through fundraising and community advocacy, the Willamalane Park Foundation supports efforts to preserve and enhance open spaces and expand access to exceptional community programs.
Improving Playgrounds for Happy Preschoolers
Willamalane Park and Recreation District’s preschool program is growing to meet the needs of our community. Last December, the Willamalane Park Foundation launched a campaign to support a new preschool playground at Bob Keefer Center. Thanks to the generosity of individual and business donors over $50,000 has been contributed to the preschool playground project so far.
Keeping Kids Active in Summer
The Willamalane Park Foundation is a long-time supporter of the 1Pass program. This summer activity pass provides access to summer activities for local kids at venues in Springfield and Eugene, including Willamalane facilities. Last summer 33 scholarships were provided to help remove financial barriers and ensure more of our community is able to participate in this popular program.
Beautifying Springfield with New Trees
Due to the January ice storm, nearly a third of trees across Willamalane parks were lost or damaged. Re-planting costs averaged $400 per tree. Willamalane Park Foundation donors stepped up to support replanting efforts.
