Local Option Levy: May 19, 2026
Proposed Five-Year Operating Levy
On Feb. 11, 2026, the Willamalane Board of Directors unanimously approved a resolution to place a temporary, five-year levy on the May 19, 2026, ballot.
The measure will ask voters to consider a five-year local option levy to preserve park safety, maintenance, recreation programs, and wildfire prevention.
Cost Impact
Based on a median assessed value of $196,803, a homeowner would pay approximately $4.10 per month. The appointed budget committee would review how levy funds are implemented, providing citizen oversight and transparency into the process. Levy expenditures would also be reviewed by the elected board, along with public disclosure of all levy spending, an independent audit, and monthly financial reporting.
Additional information will be shared on this page. Please check back for details as the ballot measure is filed and the election approaches.
If Approved...
The proposed levy would maintain:
- Trash pickup and reduction of illegal dumping
- Ranger patrols to improve park safety
- Parks and natural area maintenance
- Removal of dead, down, overgrown vegetation and brush
- Protection of wildlife habitat and water quality
- Safe public river and pool access for recreation
- Affordable summer camps and preschool
- Recreation and wellness programs for seniors
- Community events
- Daily restroom cleaning
- Recreation facility and pool hours
If Not Approved...
Willamalane would address an estimated 10% gap in its operating budget, which could result in reduced maintenance, hours, programs, and services. In addition, the proposed temporary property tax increase would not occur.
