Swimming, sports, childcare, and events for children under five
Date: Sep 22, 2025
As the days get cozier, finding activities for kids under five can feel like a full-time job. But fear not, Springfield is bursting with fun activities that keep kids busy, spark their creativity, teach them new skills, and even offer grown-ups a chance to connect with each other.
There’s something powerful about the everyday moments that shape our community. A high-five after a tough workout. The way a child looks up to a camp counselor. A neighbor’s wave as you pass on the trail. Parks and recreation aren’t just places or programs. They’re how we connect.
In 2024, 360 volunteers participated in 94 opportunities with the district, totaling over 10,778 volunteer service hours. That’s the equivalent of five full-time employees working 40-hour weeks for a year!
Last year, kids scanned their 1Passes 69,442 times at local Springfield and Eugene destinations, including local swimming pools, a museum, a trampoline park, a mini golf course, and a science center.
