Willamalane provides information, support, and access to other resources to help older adults. These senior services help participants maintain maximum independence by removing individual and social barriers to personal independence.
Services
Willamalane Adult Activity Center offers free services for adults 50 and older, unless otherwise specified. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call (541) 736-4444.
AARP Tax Aid
Free tax preparation is available for older community members with low income. Appointment scheduling begins on Jan. 5, 2026, at 8 a.m.

Blood Pressure Checks
Local retired nurses provide weekly checks and education. An automatic blood pressure cuff machine is available for use anytime the center is open. Sign in at the front desk to use it.

Day of Beauty
Enjoy a day of beauty with Gateways Cosmetology Academy at Gateways High School. Cosmetology students will offer older adults complimentary haircuts and a choice of manicure or eyebrow wax.
Jewelry Repair Drop-In
Bring your accessories back to life! Join a special jewelry repair session with Angela Lees. Get free help with broken clasps, missing links, or other restoration services for your favorite pieces. A small fee may apply for special supplies. Soldering services are not available.

Food Programs
All ages. Willamalane’s food programs provide inexpensive or free food to serve the needs of the Springfield-area community. Willamalane offers a food pantry, weekday meals for seniors, and a monthly community breakfast.
Foot Care
Licensed nurses provide basic foot assessment and nail care. This service is unavailable for people with diabetes because of the special care it involves.

LCOG Senior & Disability Services (S&DS)
This service provides local eligibility services for Oregonians seeking medical and SNAP (food stamps) benefits. A knowledgeable S&DS Eligibility Specialist will be onsite to provide information, assist Oregonians with applying for benefits, and perform case updates for current clients.

Lectures
Willamalane hosts captivating free lectures on a variety of topics. All lectures are hosted at Willamalane Adult Activity Center.
LIHEAP (Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program)
Ages 60+. LIHEAP helps keep adults aged 60 and older healthy by assisting with energy costs. Waitlist enrollment is ongoing. LIHEAP funds are federal and are part of the Administration for Children and Families programs. Mailouts have been sent. Willamalane will open monthly waitlists beginning Monday, Jan. 5, 2026. Medicare Counseling
Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) provides free, unbiased Medicare information to beneficiaries and their families or representatives. SHIBA helps prevent fraud, abuse, and scams and assists with Medicare appeals and other Medicare-related issues.

Social Activities
Spend time with friends at Willamalane Adult Activity Center, where you can enjoy a wide variety of programs for older adults. These activities are a great way to spend free time during the day, make new friends, and improve your overall well-being. The Get-Together Pass costs $5 for 10 visits.
